Our Favorite Gifts that Give Back

Our Favorite Gifts that Give Back

Christmas is officially 15 days away...yep I did it, I counted the days. We're finding the final gifts for our family, which always makes me think - 'How can we do something different this year?' Of course we want to bless people and let them know how much they mean to us, but what if we could give a gift that gives back? What if all of our holiday shopping was focused on finding Gifts that Give back! Gosh, it makes all of the shopping and gift finding double the fun when you know that your dollars are making a double impact.

So, with that in mind here are some of our Favorite Gifts that Give Back!

1. Love Squared Designs :

I met Lisa, of Love Squared Designs, when Aaron and I were living in Seattle. I love her business because she is continually looking for ways to use her love of jewelry making as a way to give back. This year she is donating $10 from every Give Hope Gift Set to The Grow Hope Foundation that is working in Uganda to empower women and children with education and basic life skills, PLUS Lisa is giving you the gift of FREE SHIPPING when you use the coupon code GATHER

Her shop is full of personalized jewelry, my personal favorites are the leather cuffs. They've become a staple piece in my wardrobe, with my 'gather' cuff being new love!

2. Krochet Kids : Beyond the cute animals, great beanies, clothing and bags, this company is founded on empowering women. They work with women in poverty stricken parts of the world empowering them to transform their lives through the resources, training and work that these products provide. Plus you get a signed tag with every item, you can literally see the connection between your purchase and the lives your dollars are supporting.

3. The Tote Project :

The Tote Project was started by 2 friends who simply had a desire to make a difference in the world of Sex Slavery. Their totes are unique and perfect for traveling, makeup bags, pencil pouches...you name it. Their fair trade products are sewn in India by women who have made the choice to journey out of the sex trade and into freedom. PLUS they donate 20% of their profits to Two Wings to help survivors of human trafficking in the United States pursue their dreams.

4. Caffe Lusso :

We're true Seattleites...we LOVE our coffee ;) So of course I have to encourage you to love it too, or at least give some to your coffee loving friends and family! Aaron and I had the chance to tour and talk with Philip, the founder of Caffe Lusso, and wow, I was so impressed. He's chosen a direct trade model which means he is purchasing straight from the Coffee Growers, giving them better pricing for their beans, supporting local farming and bypassing the middle man so the actual coffee farmers are the ones benefiting from all of their labor. Plus, this means that Philip gets to pick the best beans out there. And to top that off, Caffe Lusso created a Rescue:Freedom blend that gives back to the fight against human trafficking!

5. Dinner Changes Everything :

Of course we couldn't give you a gift guide without including our favorite book! This is the story of how one community turned their kitchen table into a tool to fight injustice. It will inspire you to see your kitchen table in a new way, plus it's full of delicious recipes, full menus and lots of how to guides to help you host a dinner that makes a difference. Plus - 10% of all proceeds are donated to Rescue:Freedom Int.

And that's a wrap...this time of year reminds me in new ways of how incredibly blessed we are. Being able to give gifts to those we love is just the tip of the iceberg of the ways we live in abundance. Here's to doing gift giving a little different this year.

Do you have a favorite Gift that Gives Back? Tell me about it! I love finding new ways to turn our everyday shopping into life change.
