Cooking Class!

I’ll be teaching you how to make 2 of our fall favorites : Apple Sauce & Apple Galettes (it’s a fancy word for a rustic pie ;). You’ll get to harvest apples fresh from the trees, prepare your own pot of Apple Sauce and then we’ll head into the kitchen to bake a fresh Apple Galette.

A Galette is a rustic pie, so I’ll be teaching you how to make my favorite homemade pie crust. We’ll roll it out, load it with apples and bake!

You’ll leave with your own batch of Apple Sauce ready to simmer at home and the recipe to cook up your own Galette!

Our Cooking Classes are all hands on, that means each person gets to be part of creating the recipes and helping with the kitchen duties. These classes are also limited to only 10 spots per class - they feel a bit like the good ole days when everyone would gather for Fall Harvesting.

Get ready for some serious FUN in the kitchen together!

What you’ll need :

  • cutting board

  • knife, we’ll be chopping apples up so bring your fave big knife.

  • large stock pot & lid or the insert to your crock pot

**you’ll be filling it with all the ingredients for your own batch of Apple Sauce. One batch fills about four 12 oz mason jars.

  • apron!

  • no cooking experience necessary ;)

*This cooking class is held in Bremerton, WA. Directions will be emailed to you once you complete your ticket purchase.

Let’s bake up some Fall Red Tin Treats Together! I’ll teach you how to make 2 of our favorites, Pumpkin Bread and Molasses Krinkles.

The Red Tins are eternally full in the Fall because baking and filling the house with the sweet smell of spices is one of my all time favorites. We’ll start out making a batch of Pumpkin Bread so there will be enough for us to enjoy as well as some for each of you to take home.

I’ll show you the tricks to getting them to ‘Krinkle’ just right and before you leave we’ll bake a batch for us to enjoy and then I’ll send you home with dough so you can make them fresh, filling your own homes with the sweet smells of baking cookies.

You’ll leave with fresh baked Pumpkin Bread, Molasses Krinkle dough and the recipes to bake them again and again!

Tell me more about the workshop!

Experience the Flower Farm life with chickens moseying around your feet, the goats and sheep in the field while you treat yourself to a cool summer drink and small bites. Carolyn, the owner and operator of of Willow & Mabel Garden Co is opening her flower fields to you, inviting you to stroll down the lane with bucket and snips in hand as you head into the flower fields to select your own fresh bouquet of flowers. You’ll learn tips and tricks on how to grow your own flowers, the best way to cut them, how to care for them and arrange them.

After snipping and filling your bucket with fresh blooms we’ll head back to the shade under the apple trees where Carolyn will give you a hands on demonstration on how to arrange and care for cut flowers. We are taking care of every detail providing everything you need from the buckets, snips, vases and fields of blooms to the chilled summer spritzers, fresh fruits and sweet bites from local bakeries.

The workshop lasts around 2 hours with a leisurely, strolling down the lane pace so you can have ample time to enjoy the flower field, create your own hand cut bouquet, sip your summer spritzer and enjoy a true un-rushed day on the Flower Farm. You’ll leave the workshop with your vase filled with your own hand crafted bouquet and an experience you will always remember.
