Holiday Gift Guide For From The Heart Gifts

Holiday Gift Guide For From The Heart Gifts

I am not afraid to admit that I’m not a big shopper, which has made me feel like I’m not a great gift giver until I realized I simply like giving the nontraditional. I love giving a gift that is practicle and beautiful and most of the time it means I’ve done something for the gift reciever, or set time aside to do something together. So here my friends, is my non traditional, get your creative ideas flowing, gift ideas from the heart. Plus so many fun links to help you ‘shop’ right from where you are sitting!

  1. Give Cozy :

It’s the feeling that you get when you’re all snuggled in, or you’re surrounded by joy and light. So let’s wrap it all up with new taper candles to add pops of light and cozy around the house and down the table. Let’s add in some fun matches and hot cocoa and stir spoons. It’s the cozy gift that will fill their home with light and warmth.

    - My current fave candles are from Etsy! With so many beautiful colors to choose from. Check out Mr Art Wood for the loveliest beeswax candles in natural or black!! and Jandle Moment has the loveliest muted shades that make for the prettiest table scapes and groupings of candles.

    - Add in a good book to be inspired by, our fave is most definitely our Cookbook Dinner Changes Everything. It’s filled with gorgeous cozy inspiration. Or pick up a magazine that feels like a splurge, like Mingle or Bella Grace, Magnolia or a Seed Catalogue! That is for sure every gardeners favorite winter reading.

  2. Get them Started :

Have you heard your friends or family say they wanted to try something out? Maybe it’s sourdough or kambucha, painting or woodworking, starting a garden or learning how to arrange flowers. Get them started! Is there a local class you could give them as a gift or a beginners kit?

    - If you’re looking for fun starter kits for Sourdough, Kabucha or Yogurt, check out Cultures for Health. They have so many amazing kits to choose from!

    - If you’d like to gift a workshop or class, hop on over to our shop and snag a gift card! Our 2023 event calendar is filling up with workshops. Whether it’s cooking class dinners, baking workshops, dinners in the orchard, or wreath making we've got something for everyone! We also have kits to get your cutting garden started before the workshops even begin! Ticket sales open for our events throughout the year, so snag a gift card so you can give them the option of choosing what they would love.

  3. Give a Splurge

Have you heard your friends and family say oh if only that was in the budget about..? A massage, or a facial, shopping at a certain store, or eating at a specific restaurant…I bet there is a splurge they would never justify spending their budget on but they’d love to do it all the same. Give them the splurge!

    - Book a facial at GeneJaurez! If you’re local, book one at the new Silverdale location, ask for Luca. I was gifted a facial service by her and oh my, I came home and told Aaron that he could splurge on that for me anytime. ;)

    - Book a Private Dinner with us! It’s a splurge kind of event, and so very worth it. We take care of all the details from beginning to end. From the decor, candles, flowers to the menu, prep, serving and ambiance - we take care of everything so you and your group can enjoy it to the full. It’s an experience you will never forget.

  4. All the Little things

You know that feeling when you splurge and buy yourself the facewash you really love, or the dishsoap scent that makes you smile, or the pack of flower seeds you’re hoping to grow. All of those little things are not really so little. They’re packed full of joy, so why not create a that joy for someone else in a basket of favorites. This year I’m creating a box of garden joy and adding the following:

    - Garden Inspired Jewelry by 1979 Culture : I met Jenny via instagram and we both quickly realzied we had kindred hearts to encourage and inspire. Then I saw her jewelry! It’s beautiful and stamped with garden herbs and flowers and as you know, I deeply love gardening. So I’m tucking a piece of her jewelry into the gift boxes! The hardest part was deciding between the ring, earrings, the necklace or the bracelet!

    - Seeds : I saved lots and lots of seeds from our garden flowers this year and have them tucked into little envelopes. But there are other flowers I want to add to my own garden so I’m buying large packets and splitting them up between mini envelopes so that I can give several varieties! Check out Davids Garden Seeds for Apricot Asters, Strawflowers, Zinderella Peach Zinnias, Poppies, Snapdragos and so many more. Also check out Baker Creek Heirloom, Halden Gardens for the most beautiful seed packets and SOOO many lovely Chrysanthemum varieties. Seeds Savers Exchange is another one that has great variety and lots of fun heriloom vegetables too.

    - Hand Scrub : All gardeners know you need something to help clean and soften your hands after all the fun digging. My favorite hand scrub is actually one we make with Coconut Oil, Sugar and Pine Essential Oil, I’ll share the recipe soon! And my favorite lotion is Skin Food by Weleda. It’s rich and creamy and heals my hands better than anything else I’ve tried!

    - Garden NoteCards : To finish this gift box off, I’m adding in our own personalized Garden Notecard Set. Our daughter drew these all from inspiration from our own garden. The sets are so sweet and filled with all the beauty of gardening.

  5. Deliver all the Yum!

Whether or not baking or cooking is your thing you can deliver all the yum with all the pretty dishes too. Have all of the ingredients for a charcuterie board, or dinner delivered and why not add in some fun new serving dishes too!

    - We have an amazing local online Farmers Market that will deliver straight to your door! Local friends, check out Kitsap Fresh they do all the work of gathering farm fresh goodness, cheese, produce, jams, meat, nuts, bread and more. You place your order online and they’ll deliver it to your address. My recent order was filled with everything for holiday charcuterie spreads with smoked cheddar and spice nuts, pepper jelly and smoked salmon, microgreens, radishes and some spaghetti squash for dinner too! If you aren’t local do a little search to see what kind of farmers market delivery your area has, it’s such a great way to support your community and give the yummiest of gifts.

    - Give Red Tin Treats! We of course could not leave out our famous Red Tin Treat Boxes filled with Holiday Goodness that we can deliver right to your family and friends. This year we’re filling the boxes with Salted Caramel Squares, Butter Toffee, Savory & Sweet Spiced Pecans, Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Creams and Peanut Brittle! There are just a few more boxes available so snag one before they’re sold out. No need for us to hog all of the baking though! If you want to make your own Red Tin Treat Box check out our ECookBook with all of the recipes for our favorite holiday treats.

    - Don’t forget the dishes! Head on over to the Freckled Hen for oh so much fun dishware, serving utensils, festive mugs, charcuterie boards, small dishes, plus simple syrups, cocktail kits and so much more. The best bit is just tell them it’s a gift and they will WRAP IT all for you. Plus you might just want to add in a cute puzzle to keep everyone having fun while they enjoy the delicious charcuterie spread.

Those are all of my wonderful ideas for keeping gift giving easy but thoughtful and also able to be done while sipping coffee and clicking away on a computer. Cheers to your shopping friends and may your holidays be filled with good food and even better company around your table.
