Workshop : Get Your Garden Started!

The garden may be resting now, but pretty soon it will be time to start planting those seeds and prepping the garden beds! We are thrilled to be offering both an in person and online version of this workshop.

IN PERSON GARDENING WORKSHOP — $75

This workshop will be held at Ciderpress Lane, March 26th at 10 am or 2pm, the workshop will last about 2 hours

Regardless of the weather we’ll have a cozy spot set up for everyone to enjoy warm mugs of coffee or tea, savory garden herb scones with a sweet Red Tin Treat as well, all while you learn about how cool compost is, how to start and create your own compost system, how to prepare your garden bed, tips on seed starting and how to lay out your garden bed.

Then you’ll get to plant your own seed tray with veggies and flowers!

  • Each guest will leave the workshop with the provided seed tray planted with all of the veggies and flowers needed to create one garden bed

  • You’ll learn about compost, how to start your own system and keep it healthy, plus how to use the compost in your garden beds

  • You’ll learn how to transfer your seedlings from their starting pods to the garden

  • Plus you’ll get a full map on how to lay out your garden bed with the vegetables and flowers you’ve started

    • your garden bed will have zucchini, cucumber, kale, basil, marigolds, nasturtium, cosmos and a dahlia … a true cottage garden with vegetables and flowers!

*This workshop will be held outside in the garden giving us lots of space and fresh air to work in. We’ll be working in a covered area, but you will want to come in layers so you’re warm


ONLINE GARDEN WORKSHOP + KIT — $60

Join Kelly in a virtual workshop to learn about how cool compost is, how to prepare your garden beds for planting, tips on seed starting plus a full map and tutorial on how to lay out your garden bed.

Then Kelly will walk you through exactly how to plant your own seed tray with veggies and flowers! 

This Workshop Includes:

  • Video Tutorial from Kelly : the video will be emailed to you the week of March 21st, you will have a private link to watch it at your leisure and as many times as needed. In the video you’ll learn:

    • about compost : how to start your own system and keep it healthy, what to add to compost, plus how to use the compost in your garden beds

    • how to prepare your garden bed : even if you’re starting with a patch of weeds there are some simple ways to get it ready now! Kelly will show you how they keep their beds weed free and low maintain, and what to do now to have the bed ready for planting.

    • seed starting : you’ll learn how to start your seedlings, how to help them grow inside and how to transfer them from their starting pods to the garden. 

  • Seed Starting Kit : the kits will ship out the week of March 21st, you’ll recieve an email with tracking number once yours is headed your way. Each Kit includes the following:

    • seed starting pods, tray and labeling tags : not to fear, we have the most simple and mess free way for you to start your seeds! 

    • all vegetable and flowers seeds needed for the garden design, plus a dahlia tuber to complete the bed

    • your kit will have a full map showing you how to lay out your garden bed with the vegetables and flowers you’ve started

    • plus you’ll get your own sweet Red Tin Treat to enjoy as you work!

You’ll complete the workshop with the provided seed tray planted with all of the veggies and flowers needed to create one 3 x 10 foot bed. Your garden bed will have zucchini, cucumber, kale, basil, marigolds, nasturtium, cosmos and a dahlia … a true cottage garden with vegetables and flowers!

*the video and kit will start going out March 21st via email and UPS shipping. You’ll receive a shipping notification when your kit is enroute!
