The Grad Party Essentials

The Grad Party Essentials

Whether it's high school or college, graduation parties are a big deal. When I say big deal, I mean, it's time to cut loose and celebrate! If you need help figuring out how to celebrate your graduate in style, here's a glimpse at a super fun graduation open house that you can easily put together!

MAKE IT FUN

Since our graduate was getting ready to travel the world we made sure to include a hint of a travel theme in the set up, with a big chalked sign to fill everyone in about all of her plans. Photo booths are always a hit and you're guaranteed to get loads of photos, here's a simple DIY How To so you can make your own! Add in yard games, bubble blowing station, a spot for friends to leave notes and of course the food...

PUT OUT A SPREAD

For this open house we did a simple buffet of sliced watermelon, bruschetta, tex-mex pasta salad, hummus with veggies and pita and cake pops. Check out our Graduation Party Pinterest Board for recipe inspiration. But make this part easy! No need to stress over new recipes or fancy food. Ask your graduate what their favorites are and fill the table with those. We helped at a graduation party recently where they put out bowls of marshmallows, and yep...those were the bowls that we refilled more than any other!

MAKE IT EASY

Make the event easy for yourself and ask a few friends to come simply to host. Their job will be to refill drink containers, pick up empty cups and plates throughout the open house, replenish the food table, direct traffic, help with the photo booth and so on. You'll be so glad to have people with a singular focus, it will allow you to truly enjoy all of the guests and the celebration!
