The Pizza Feast
Put out the big spread, all the toppings and fixings, prep the flatbreads or pizza crusts and make an evening of creating personal pizzas! We make homemade pizza every Friday night possible and it’s always a fun leisurely evening of enjoying fresh pizzas straight from the oven. Everyone tops their own pizza dough and we keep baking the pies for as long as people are making them. It’s a fun way to try all sorts of combinations and to draw the time at the table out.
Crank up the oven and get ready to prep the toppings! If you’re hosting this feast and the weather is nice enough to be outside…crank up the grill!! Place a large cast iron skillet on the grill, let it get piping hot and you can make the pizzas while you’re outside playing yard games.
Whether you purchase flatbread to use, premade pizza dough, or make your own I suggest having the pizza dough ‘premade’ and ready for the guests to roll out the dough and add the toppings.

Now the Table!
This is a true family style, hands on meal - so keep the table simple! For pizza nights I lay big boards down the center of the table and fill them with all the things like a charcuterie lay out with space for the pizzas to be served. You could even put cardboard down the table and then cover it with Kraft Paper so you can serve the appetizers and pizzas straight onto the table.
The trick with this layout is to keep it simple. The color and beauty on the table comes from the fresh food! Add in a few candles in small mason jars and small bouquet of daisies or whatever you might have blooming in your area. Just keep those pizzas coming!
