your new favorite chex mix recipe-2.png

It is officially Christmas Vacation in our house with pj days, lazy mornings, no rushing off to the bus or meetings and now the house smells like Christmas too. My grandma made 2 things for us at Christmas, chex mix and her famous spring rolls. Not necessarily to be eaten together! Here's our Favorite Chex Mix recipe to help your house smell lovely too (we'll save the spring rolls for another day ;) Now back to Parker sewing Christmas gifts, taking life slow in comfy clothes, and enjoying time together. Christmas Vacation we love you!

Our Favorite Chex Mix

  • 6 cups each of Corn, Wheat, and Rice Chex

  • 2 cups peanuts

  • 2 cups pretzels

  • 2 sticks plus 2 Tablespoons butter, melted

  • 1/4 cup plus 3 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce

  • 4 1/2 teaspoons johnny's seasoned salt

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.

In a large roasting pan combine all of the Chex cereal, peanuts and pretzels. In a separate small bowl, combine the melted butter, Worcestershire, seasoned salt, garlic powder and onion powder.

In small amounts, pour the butter mixture over the cereal mixture and stir, then pour another small amount over the cereal and repeat until evenly coated.  Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely. Store in an air tight container & Enjoy!

Have fun filling your house with the smell of Christmas, and hopefully it can come with a lazy day for you and your family and friends to enjoy being together.
